In front of the AXA-Insurance building on 20 Bockenheimer Landstraße stands this monumental wooden sculpture by Frankfurt sculptor Claus Bury. It was erected in November 2003. Two piers of a bridge consisting of six columns on a console with an opening in the centre support three convex and three concave beams. These beams open up vistas through their diverging curvatures. On the left, the outer parts are concave and point to the sky, whereas on the right, the convex curve of the main part points towards the façade of AXA-Insurance. In the centre, the two elements of this formation touch the ground. Bury leaves the wood untreated, there is no clear varnish or paint. This and its clear, spare design lend the piece a meditative air.
